ICBC urges caution as pedestrian injuries nearly double
NORTH VANCOUVER–Almost double the number of pedestrians are injured in crashes from October to January.
That’s why today, ICBC and police are launching a pedestrian safety campaign to urge pedestrians and drivers to stay safe as crashes with pedestrians spike at this time of year.
Drivers are urged to take extra time to look for pedestrians, avoid distractions and be ready to yield. Pedestrians can help by making themselves visible, making eye contact and using designated crosswalks.
This year’s campaign features online advertising that reminds drivers: you see pedestrians when you really look for them.
