It was another tight hockey game Saturday night at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena as the Prince George Spruce Kings hosted the Chilliwack Chiefs for the second time in as many nights.

However, this time it was the visitors who walked away with the two points as the Chiefs held on for a 2-1 win.

The Spruce Kings got the scoring started just 3:25 into the contest on the power play thanks to a beautiful passing play finished off by Nick Poisson.

Prince George would carry the play for most of the first period, but Chilliwack would take advantage of their limited opportunities.

Peter Reynolds would tie the contest on the Chiefs man advantage with his 6th of the campaign and just a minute later the Chiefs get another by Jett Alexander to make it 2-1.

Despite numerous chances in both the 2nd and 3rd, the Spruce Kings could not get another one past Mathieu Caron and the Chiefs would hang on for the 2-1 win.

Prince George outshot the Chiefs 36-23.

With the loss, the Spruce Kings fall to 5-7-2-1 on the season.

They will be back on the ice Thursday when they begin an Island road trip in Powell River against the Kings.

The road trip will also feature contests against Victoria on Saturday and Cowichan Valley Sunday.
