Spruce Kings back in the win column in Victoria

The Prince George Spruce Kings snapped their three-game losing streak Saturday night, thanks to a 2-1 win in Victoria against the Grizzlies.

Nicholas Poisson opened the scoring in the first period for the Spruce Kings and Nolan Welsh would score the eventual game-winner in the middle frame.

Chong Min Lee had a pair of assists in Saturday night’s win, while goaltender Jett Alexander made 37 saves.

The win improves the Spruce King’s record to 6-8-2-1 on the year.

They will wrap up their three-game Vancouver Island road trip Sunday afternoon when they battle the Cowichan Valley Capitals.
