2018 wildfire rehabilitation continues into 2020

BURNS LAKE–Plans continue to rehabilitate areas on Crown land affected by firefighting operations in the Nadina Natural Resource District.

The BC Government says it is working on gathering information, plan the rehabilitation of fireguards and carry out the prescribed work. Fireguards are areas around the perimeter of a wildfire that were cleared of trees and other vegetation to slow the fire’s spread.

The province says that much of the rehabilitation for the 2018 wildfire locations is complete, work on other sites and Crown land will continue into 2020.
