Fire Department

Business as usual for the PG Fire & Rescue on Halloween

While kids were out trick or treating Thursday night, the Prince George Fire Department along with other emergency services were on high alert.

However, for PG Fire & Rescue it was a relatively quiet evening.

Between 5:00 p.m. and midnight, the fire department received 6 calls and all of them were unrelated to Halloween events.

One of the factors which is believed to have helped reduce the number of calls was the preventative tips provided by the Fire Department.

“The efforts that have been put in place prior to the event seem to be paying off,” stated Deputy Fire Chief Cliff Warren.

“People are noticing those. They are ensuring everybody is safe and highly visible. We encourage everybody if they are interested in fireworks or setting off fireworks can make themselves aware of the fire protection bylaw. There is a whole section in there on fireworks within the City of Prince George. We also encourage them to contact us for further information,” added Warren.

More information on the bylaw can be found here.
