The Vaccination Status Reporting Regulation was approved earlier this year in B.C, but across the province, the regulation hasn’t been received all positively.

Saturday in Prince George and other cities in B.C, Pro-Choice rally’s were held as residents against regulation 3-7-6 spread awareness and expressed their concern regarding the matter.

Up until now, parents had the choice of whether they wanted to vaccinate their children or not, and with the new regulation, parents are upset that their right to choose will be taken away.

“We are representing our freedom of choice when it comes to vaccines,” shared Organizer Wendie Holbrook.

“We are not an anti-vaccine group. We are just here to talk about how regulation 376 is infringing on our Charter of Rights and Freedoms.”

Other walks took place in B.C in Victoria, Richmond, and Surrey.

Implementation of the regulation has resulted in requiring parents or guardians to report the vaccination status of their school-age children.

In 2020 parents of unvaccinated kids or kids not totally up to date will be required to meet with a Public Health Officer along with their child. Should they not comply, they could face fines up to $200,000 and/or jail time

This regulation came into force on July 1 and public health units began implementation of the regulation in September of 2019.
