PRINCE GEORGE – Forty-five brave souls donned costumes to jump into a pool of water deliberately made frigid with buckets of ice cubes.
They are members of the JDC West and they have been raising money since October for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, specifically to help with the purchase of a Boston SpyGlass DS for University Hospital of Northern BC.
The equipment enables direct visualization if the pancreatic and bile ducts and is used to evaluate suspected and malignant conditions.
Once purchased, the Healthcare Foundation says it will be third such piece of equipment in BC.
