PRINCE GEORGE — A trying season for the Prince George Spruce Kings continued Friday as the squad dropped a 4-2 decision to the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

The Kings’ goals both came in the second period from Jaxon Steele and Andrew Seaman. Steele’s was his first career BCHL marker. Prince George led 2-1 after the quick pair of tallies but before the end of the frame, Cowichan Valley would take the 3-2 lead a never look back. Jett Alexander made 20 saves. The loss puts the Kings at 8-12-2-3 on the year.

In the third, a concerning moment for fans at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena as Capitals forward Dan McIntyre took a puck to the throat and left the game. He was taken to hospital but was released and was on the bus with Cowichan Valley on the way to Chilliwack.

The Spruce Kings look to get back on track Saturday when they host the West Kelowna Warriors. Puck drop at the RMCA is scheduled for 7pm.
