UNBC Women’s basketball rolls to victory, men lose handily

PRINCE GEORGE — Another Friday night, another pair of games for the UNBC Timberwolves basketball teams at the Northern Sport Centre. This week’s opponents are the UBC Thunderbirds.

First up, the women. After an even first quarter, the Timberwolves went on to outscore UBC in each of the next three quarters to earn an 80-63 victory and improve to 2-3 for this campaign.

As for the men, a bit of a different story. A dominant second quarter by UBC gave the Thunderbirds a 51-33 lead at the half. They rode that to a 96-78 win. Timberwolves now sit with a 3-2 record.

The women host UBC again tonight at 5pm with the men following at 7pm.
