McLean’s ranks Prince George 14th most dangerous place in Canada
PRINCE GEORGE–McLean’s, “20 most dangerous places 2020,”–the 20 places in Canada with the highest level of overall crime, places Prince George as number 14.
Prince George follows Dawson Creek, BC in 13th and places just before Lethbridge, Alta. in 15th. Mclean’s ranked the communities using a crime severity index (CSI) from 2018–the most recent year with available data.
The CSI is a Statistics Canada measure that takes into account all police-reported crime, taking into consideration volume and severity. 237 cities where the population sat at 10,000 people or more were compared to Canada’s overall CSI which sits at 75.0, cities with a higher CSI have more severe crime.
Prince George is sitting at a CSI of 164.48.
