Not all bad

The positive side of vaping

PRINCE GEORGE — Much has been said recently about issues surrounding vaping especially for youth, but what sometimes gets lost is that it’s actually meant as a tool to quit smoking.

One real-life example of how vaping has helped someone quit is Andrew O’Hara. He started smoking when he was 14 years old and eventually came to choose vaping as his means to overcome it. He’s one of many who use vaping for it’s intended use, and it’s worked him down from a pack or more a day, to a quarter of the nicotine intake.

There has been a sour eye on vaping in the last little bit because of an increased amount of youth doing it and some health issued said to be related to it. But if you do it properly and for it’s intended purpose, it can be a healthier alternative to smoking.

If vaping is your preferred method, it is important to make sure it’s done correctly. Northern Health does caution anyone who doesn’t already smoke and anyone under 19, should not pick up a vape whatsoever.
