UNBC students’ frustrations lead to student rally on picket line
PRINCE GEORGE — Friday was day 16 of job action by UNBC faculty. Students at the university have largely supported their faculty with some even showing up on the picket lines, but Friday, the Students on Strike event saw a couple hundred out all at once.
Frustrations continue to mount as bargaining between the UNBCFA and Administration remains without a deal. Students now are worried about missing class time with just seven class days left before exams. Some even wonder if this will affect their ability to graduate in the spring.
UNBC Administration has issued a statement in regards to the financial situation for students. A note from Matt Wood, Communications and Marketing Director at UNBC, states, “…The University will provide a non-refundable, pro-rated financial credit to students, which can be applied to future tuition and/or fees at UNBC.”
Updates from Administration regarding bargaining talks can be found at UNBC’s website.
