Comebacks galore at TRU, TWolves split Friday games

KAMLOOPS — Another exciting night of UNBC basketball ending with an impressive come from behind win for the Timberwolves men’s team.

Down seven heading into the final quarter, the men’s squad stormed back to a 78-76 win over Thompson Rivers, improving to 4-3 on the year. Vova Pluzhnikov and Tyrell Laing topping 20 points each in the win.

Meanwhile a bit of a different story earlier in the night for the women. They took a five point lead into the fourth but were unable to halt the WolfPack, eventually falling 68-66. Maria Mongomo with a strong effort in the loss, scoring 29 points to go along with 16 rebounds and two assists. TWolves now sit at 2-5.

The men and women battle TRU again today, 5pm start for the women, 7pm for the men.
