PRINCE GEORGE – The Northern Capital is going international… again. Just this time, it’s with the big screen.

Thursday morning, UNLTD Media and Events announced details to put on the Great Northern Film Festival (GNIFF).

GNIFF will screen over 100 films during the four days it runs while also hosting a series of filmmaker workshops inspired by the success of Northern FanCon’s Creative Corner series.

UNLTD’s Norm Coyne hopes to have a success story similar to that of Regina’s.

“I’ve been on the film festival circuit for the past two years promoting our film “The Doctor’s Case” and I see the difference that it makes in other cities. Regina is a huge example. They have this amazing film festival that now, even though they’ve yanked the tax credits, they have a bunch of film production companies. It’s because they still have that profile, they’ve attracted hundreds of filmmakers to Regina. There are things happening. I want to see those things happen in Prince George.”

Along with the festival, a red carpet gala will also be put on with 24 awards to category winners.

The festival will run from Sept. 10 to Sept. 13 of 2020 from the Treasure Cove Show Lounge. The gala will be held on Sept. 12.
