Highway 97 reopens north of Williams Lake

WILDWOOD – Update: North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says last night’s highway closure was caused by a tractor trailer that flipped and lost its shipment of wood just after 4 p.m.

She says another vehicle then swerved to avoid the crash and ended up in a ditch.

Saunderson says no one appeared to have died in the collision but notes it took several hours for to clean up.

Earlier: A vehicle incident at Lynes Creek Road, 10 kilometres north of Wildwood, has resulted in Highway 97 being closed in both ways.
