UNBC students already exploring other options as extended semester comes to an end

PRINCE GEORGE — The UNBC semester is now officially over. While the winter break is usually a time for students to cut back and relax, many still have their minds on next semester, whenever that may come.

Plenty of students are already on their way home for the holidays before coming back in January. But that’s still up in the air. Some students told CKPG they have already, or are planning on, exploring other options should strike action continue into the January semester. Others continue to play the waiting game.

Recently, UNBC President Dr. Daniel Weeks was cautiously optimistic about future enrollment numbers but did note he does expect job action to make some sort of impact.

UNBC’s Faculty Association said there will not be any updates on bargaining until next Tuesday when the special mediator will be issuing his recommendations.
