Enbridge brings pipeline up to capacity
PRINCE GEORGE – Representatives from Enbridge were at Council last night and spoke about the explosion that happened in October 2018.
That’s when a pipeline 13 kilometres north of Prince George ruptured, sending a fireball into the sky.
“After the pipeline rupture, we started an intensive integrity and safety program, moving forward with a new and improved safety program,” explains Tracie Kenyon, Senior Corporate Communications Advisor for Enbridge. ” The first thing we did is reduce pressure on the entire pipeline so we could do intensive tool ruins. We have now done inspection across the entire system with highly sensitive, new generation inline inspections tools. after that, we almost doubled our integrity digs.”
She says the Canada Energy Regulator finally gave the approval to bring the line up to full capacity at the end of November.
