UNBC students impacted by strike eligible for $500 credit

PRINCE GEORGE — UNBC students impacted by the recent strike will be compensated for their troubles.

UNBC will provide a $500 credit for all students who were enrolled at UNBC as of Nov.6, 2019.

The credit will be added to student accounts and can be applied as a payment against tuition and fees for the Winter 2020 semester or for other balances owing.

Students who would like to request a refund from their account can complete the student refund request form.

The strike by the UNBC Faculty Association began on Nov.7, 2019.

Earlier this week a special mediator appointed by the provincial government provided his final report to the Employer and Faculty Association bargaining teams.

The recommendations were accepted by both sides which means the parties must agree to a third-party arbitrator by the end of the business day on Jan. 3, 2020.
