Train derailment near Mt. Robson

MT. ROBSON– CN Crews are still responding to a train derailment that occurred Boxing Day morning.
26 cars derailed in multiple positions 30 km east of Mt. Robson at around 5 a.m on Dec.26. CN Rail says in a statement that the train involved is a “potash unit train, meaning that no other commodities or goods are involved.”
CN’s environmental experts and government authorities are still working on their assessments for any possible impacts on the environment.
CN Rail says they expect to open the south track later today (Dec.27) and are still assessing and working on the north track to allow the normal flow of traffic.
