RCMP officers don’t expect to become victims

PRINCE GEORGE – Four Prince George RCMP officers suffered injuries during the line of duty in the last tens days.

The violence toward police officers can sometimes add to the person’s issues who find themselves involved with the police.

When a Prince George RCMP officer is called into service, they don’t expect to become a victim.

There’s a trend of violence towards police officers. Police understand they put themselves in high-risk situations to keep the public peace.

Any violence towards an officer may result in being charged with assaulting a peace officer. Everyone who commits the offence can be guilty of an indictable offence and is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years.
