City crews continue work on icy sidewalks
PRINCE GEORGE – With the ranging temperatures and weather conditions our city has been facing just in the last few days alone, the condition of roads and sidewalks has been an on-going assignment for the city’s maintenance crews.
According to Blake McIntosh, Road and Fleed Manager in the city, Prince George has approximately 200 kilometres of sidewalk in its inventory of maintenance with roughly 190 of those kilometres receiving regular attention.
“They’re based on the priority systems similar to the roads. If they’re adjacent to the curb, priority one or two are cleared or maintained within 48 hours. Priority threes, so residential, is within the 72 hours after the 48 hours.”
In the event that you feel a certain area may not have been addressed by the City’s crews, residents are suggested to submit a maintenance request to the city through their service centre by dialling 3-1-1 or through the City of PG mobile app.
