Trail system damaged by motorcyclists

PRINCE GEORGE – The Cranbrook Hill Greenway has over 25 kilometres of trials.

The multi-use trails are open year-round. Recently parts of the trail system were damaged by motorized vehicles.

For those who maintain the trails, they feel the use of motorcycles on the trails poses a safety concern and ruins the outdoor experience for others.

The Cranbrook Hill Greenway Trail is marked for its intended use. But some people continue to use motorized vehicles that create ruts. In the early 1990’s, the Greenway trail was designed for people to explore nature at a leisurely pace.

According to trail maintainers, the ruts created in the snow by motorized vehicles are a safety hazard. And they are also concerned a motorcycle will collide with an intended user.
