PRINCE GEORGE – Bundle up!

Prince George, along with the rest of the region, is set to experience what’s known as an Arctic Outbreak, with air originating from over the North Pole getting carried southward with winds from the jetstream level flowing northward, ultimately resulting in that colder air being carried downward.

At the time of publication, Environment Canada is expecting overnight temperatures as low as -33 degrees in the Northern Capital.

UNBC’s Dr. Peter Jackson adds that there usually is a temperature inversion setup, with temperatures warming with higher elevation.
