UNBC growth in partnered research among the best in the country
PRINCE GEORGE — Research Infosource Inc. has released its latest edition of Canada’s Top 50 Research Universities Rankings. In it, the University of Northern BC is listed as the top university in the country when it comes to corporate research income growth and by a wide margin.
Some of the research highlights include appointing and reappointing research chairs, transforming health delivery services, and various joint projects. One of those deals with Carrier Sekani Family Services, focusing on Elders’ mental wellbeing and suicide prevention as part of a five-year grant project.
Dr. Geoff Payne says the nod puts more eyes on the university meaning more opportunities for industry-based research projects with a direct focus on the needs and issues of our region.
