Morris calls for provincial action in pipeline dispute

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George-Mackenzie MLA Mike Morris says the provincial government is missing in action when it comes to the pipeline dispute near Houston B.C.

Coastal Gaslink has still not been granted access to its worksite despite the fact the provincial government approved LNG Canada’s $40-billion dollar project in 2018.

The pipeline would transport LNG from Dawson Creek to an export terminal in Kitimat.

Morris says Donaldson – who represents the area in the legislature – should be doing more to ensure the dispute gets resolved.

“It’s within his constituency. He should be leading the charge on making sure it’s resolved and it’s out of the way and this pipeline gets built,” he told CKPG Today.

“It’s holding up a $40-billion dollar project. It’s a way of life. There’s 20 First Nations that support this. Where’s Doug Donaldson in showing his support for 20 First Nations that support this particular project? Where’s John Horgan to show his support for this?”
