Tourism PG going cultural
PRINCE GEORGE – While it is hardly tourism season locally, it certainly is time to plan for tourism season.
And Tourism Prince George is planning to add to its experiences by incorporating more cultural context.
“The people want to know about the history. They want to know about the culture. They want to know about those things,” explains Elke Hierl-Steinbauer, Chair of the Board for Tourism Prince George. “And we have nothing much to offer for that.”
There are plenty of examples of cultural experiences. The Grease Trail, for example, runs all the way from this region to the Coast near Bella Coola. But there plenty of other examples, such as the Ancient Forest, or the cemetery in Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park.
