Winter transportation pilot project for 65+

PRINCE GEORGE – Some members of the Prince George Council of Seniors are taking steps to kick off a pilot project to help prevent seniors from falling during the winter season.

The Council of Seniors would like to connect with seniors who have difficulty accessing transportation during icy and snowy conditions.

They say 85 per cent of seniors in the hospital are there because of a fall-related injury.

The seniors who meet the criteria will receive a $6 taxi voucher for their destination.
