Public Information session tonight
PRINCE GEORGE – A public information session will get underway on the second floor of City Hall at 6 this evening. The session is all about a proposed integrated housing project for First Avenue. The proposal would see fifty units of supportive housing at the site of the current NR Motors.
The second phase of the project would see another fifty units, but this would be affordable housing. The project is actually headed up by BC Housing, in partnership with Northern Health as their will be health services on site. The City’s role is re-zoning.
“Typically, we would only be talking about the land use component of [this project],” explains Deanna Wasnik, the Manager of Development Services for the City. “But because of our partnership with Northern Health as well as BC Housing, we’ve invited representatives from those groups to also be in attendance to provide information on the project itself, the operation of the housing and the integrated health and how that works with the housing.”
The event gets underway at 6 p.m. There will be a presentation at 6:30 and then representatives from the different organizations will take questions.
