PRINCE GEORGE–Fire rescue crews from four halls responded to a structure fire at the 4000 block of Zimmaro Ave. Wednesday, Jan.15.

Crews arrived at the single-story family residence to find smoke and flames coming from the home.

Fire Crews first attempts to enter the home were impeded due to the cold weather taking a toll on their gear. An exterior defensive attack was performed which knocked the fire down allowing crews to gain control of the flames and extinguish them.

The tenant was at home at the time of the fire but managed to escape the home without damage and called 911. Prince George Fire Rescue Service is attributing the fire to work being performed on a snowblower and has been labelled an accident.
