DAWSON CREEK —The community liaison to Premier John Horgan in the Peace Region for protecting endangered caribou has resigned.
Former Liberal M-L-A Blair Lekstrom was chosen by Horgan to ease the frustrations of local governments that were left out of planning to protect the caribou.
Lekstrom says he quit last night after the premier sent a letter to the Peace River Regional District signalling Caribou Recovery and the Caribou Partnership Agreement would not be changed.
Lekstrom says that ignored his recommendation that the agreement be amended to give local governments a seat at the caribou recovery table.
