Cougars split weekend series against Kamloops
PRINCE GEORGE – The bells were ringing, as was the goal horn inside the CN Centre on Saturday (Jan. 25) as the Prince George Cougars took down the Kamloops Blazers 3-1, earning the Cats the weekend split against the B.C. Division-leading Blazers.
Kamloops defeated the Cougars 3-0 on in the first half of the weekend series on Friday.
Taylor Gauthier backstopped the Cougars to their victory as he stopped 37 of the 38 shots he faced for the night, a night in which the Cougars held a wedding ceremony during one of the game’s intermissions in front of the 3,077 in attendance. Gauthier was named the first star of the game.
After a scoreless first period, Jonny Hooker snapped the scoring lock four minutes into the second period to put Prince George ahead by one.
