Outdoor Ice Oval Society holds 2nd Skate Your Age event

PRINCE GEORGE – Each year, Lyle Dickieson skates his age in laps of the Prince George Outdoor Ice Oval around this time of year, in which his birthday coincides.

Last year, the Outdoor Ice Oval Society held its first Skate Your Age event, inspired by Lyle’s tradition and acting as a fun activity to help in drawing the public to one of the city’s unique facilities.

On Sunday (Jan. 26), the facility and its volunteer-based staff held their second year of putting on the event, overcoming fluctuating temperatures that the region has been experiencing the past few days.

Sunday morning, the weather was on their side, allowing the ice to open up for another Skate Your Age: The Birthday Club event.
