Companies give out non-plastic swag at this year’s Natural Resources Forum
PRINCE GEORGE–The BC Natural Resources Forum wrapped up yesterday (Jan.29) and like most events, there was swag to be given out but this year it wasn’t all wrapped in plastic.
A few companies decided to embrace a few of the six R’s of recycling. “We do five to ten trade shows a year, you’re always looking for swag and trying to find something different,” said Kevin Wilson, President of ECOFOR Consulting, who’s booth on the trades floor included metal straws in a bag made from recycled materials.
“It’s very encouraging to see that exhibitors at the Natural Resources Forum are actually switching to more eco-friendly swag…It looks like they are rethinking them (the six R’s of recycling.)” – Rachael Ryder, Waste Diversion Program Leader for the RDFFG
Other non-plastic swag items included flower seeds in reusable cloth gift bags, and a paperless quiz which allowed quiz takers to donate money to a charity of their choosing once complete.
