PRINCE GEORGE – It’s sometimes referred to as the ultimate multi-sport winter challenge in Prince George.

For 33 years the Prince George Iceman has tested competitors to cross country ski 8 km, followed by a 10 km run, 5 km skate, a 5 km run, and finally, an 800 metre swim at Prince George Aquatic Centre.

There are 480 people who have registered, 50 of them will compete solo, which is the highest number ever recorded. The event begins at Otway Nordic Centre on Sunday, February 9 at 10 am.

Brian Martinson has competed in every Iceman. Martinson says the first few Iceman events participants were expected to organize their own support crew.
