PRINCE GEORGE–So, it’s the first week of February…how are your resolutions going?

In our CKPG News Question of the week we asked you, “Are your resolutions still intact?” 54 percent of you said yes and 46 percent said no. So we hit the streets to ask people if they were still sticking to their resolutions but the majority hadn’t even made any.

We spoke with Liz Bennett, a local Personal Trainer who told us she has seen a decline in people at the gym since Jan.1.

“I think what often happens is people decide it’s the new year and they’re going to change everything all at once,” said Bennett to CKPG in an on-camera interview, “sometimes that becomes really intimidating for people.”

“Statistically less than 8 percent of people who start a New Year’s resolution in January succeed at it by the end of the year.”–Liz Bennett, Personal Trainer

Bennett says it might be easier to set small goals instead of going from never visiting the gym, to attempting to go to the gym every day. She suggests to start by going only twice a week to get used to the routine. Along with making small changes to your everyday lifestyle to become a healthier person, “adding a vegetable in your life, you don’t need to change your diet all at once but how about we eat a couple of veggies?”
