Locals in need have more opportunity for dental care
PRINCE GEORGE — Dental care is not cheap, but it is important. That is why the Prince George Emergency Dental Outreach Clinic and the College of New Caledonia is giving those in need more opportunity to get dental care, in a win-win scenario.
Since Fall 2019, CNC’s dental assistant program has taken in a few patients twice a month giving free dental care in a different way than a traditional dentist. Services are volunteered by local dentists to not only deliver the care but also teach students on the job. Usually, students will practice on dummies but this clinic allows them to gain practical experience working with real people.
The program wants to expand its reach. The best way to get involved is to be a patient of record with the clinic, or to be referred by a local dentist or the Emergency Dental Outreach Clinic.
