Small business succession planning

PRINCE GEORGE – The retirement of Baby Boomers will soon leave a major void in the small business community.

That’s why Community Futures is helping existing business owners do some succession planning.

“Over the past eight years, we in Community Futures have been looking at the trends and the numbers. With the Baby Boomers moving on and retiring, there are a number of small business owners as well,” says Susan Stearns with Community Futures Fort George. “And the younger generation doesn’t have the same numbers.”

Stearns with Community Futures says, with communities the size of Prince George, it takes the entire community to attract and retain young entrepreneurs.
