Women’s Timberwolves take down Griffins in a packed afternoon game
PRINCE GEORGE– The UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball team played in a rare afternoon game, a game that accommodated around 1,400 elementary kids from School District 57.
With the crowd loud and electric the Timberwolves used the energy to lift them to a big 84-63 win over the MacEwan Griffins.
The Timberwolves were playing shorthanded again, only having seven players dressed, just one more player then their weekend games against Regina.
Three of the Timberwolves players scored in the ’20s, with Maria Mongomo leading the pack scoring 21 points and helping out with four assists.
