PRINCE GEORGE — It was not the way the Prince George Spruce Kings envisioned their two-game homestand this week. After Wednesday’s loss to Wenatchee, the Kings were unable to find the win column again, dropping a 5-2 decision to the Merritt Centennials.

Goaltending seemed to be the difference, as Merritt netminder Ryan Winter outdueled the King’s Carter Woodside. Winter stopped 34 of 36 while Woodside gave up five goals on just 19 shots.

Scoring for PG was Haydn Delorme and Nicholas Poisson. Poisson also notched an assist which kept up the star forward’s point-per-game pace.

Special team also went the way of the Centennials. PG was scoreless on three powerplay tries, while Merritt converted one of their two man advantage opportunities.
