Plastics plan coming
PRINCE GEORGE – “This year, government will release a plastics action plan to reduce plastic pollution and keep it out of B.C.’s landfills and waterways.”
Lieutenant Governor Janet Austen’s words from the Throne Speech put a smile on a few faces, locally.
Council has been looking at the idea of imposing a ban on plastic carry-out bags but opted to wait until the provincial government took the lead so as to not run afoul of the courts.
Councillor Murry Krause would like to see movement on that action plan sooner, rather than later.
