Canada Winter Games 5 year anniversary

PRINCE GEORGE – Five years ago, Prince George residents were abuzz and rubbing elbows with some of the best winter Canadian athletes.

Our community played host to the largest multi-sport event ever held in Northern BC. During the 16 day event, our community saw thousands of new people.

One of the organizers of the games, Mike Davis says what made the games successful was the number of volunteers.

As a result of the hosting Canada Winter Games, $1.1 million in legacy funds were generated, $500,000 identified as a Pre-Games Legacy Fund.
