CNC continues Black History Month celebrations with annual soccer tournament
PRINCE GEORGE — February is Black History month and one place in Prince George always eager to showcase foreign culture is CNC. The college has events going on all month long and this past weekend, an annual tradition came back bigger than ever.
The Black History Month co-ed soccer tournament at the College of New Caledonia is a staple of the school’s month-long celebrations. Over the course of six years, the tournament has grown to a table of eight teams with cash prizes for the best.
CNC has a flourishing international student population making events like Black History Month that much more important. CNC’s Black History Month committee has been organizing events for 23 years. Prince George has always been open to celebrating diversity within the city.
Still to come this month, CNC’s major celebration of Black History Month. It will feature traditional food, entertainment, and presentations and happens February 23.
