Aboriginal political climate seems to be changing

PRINCE GEORGE – It’s not something we see every day. Blockades across the country in support of the Wet’suwe’tin hereditary chiefs over a pipeline in northwestern BC are uniting First Nations bands across the country.

This is a move never seen by Chris Beach a local political science instructor.

This united front may be giving them more power at the negotiating table.

Four Wet’suwet’in hereditary chiefs are scheduled to meet members of the Mohawk nation in Ontario this week.
