Kobe Bryant memorial basketball game happening in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE – It has almost been a month since the tragic death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and seven other passengers.

The memorials for the basketball legend continue to take place in Los Angeles and now has found its way to Prince George.

Jumpstart and the Assistant Coach of the UNBC Timberwolves men’s basketball team, Nav Parmar, have organized the first annual “Bryant Memorial Basketball Classic”.

This game will be played between high schools but with a twist, the players will be grade seven boys and girls just coming into high school.

Team PGSS will be wearing the number 2 on their jerseys to honour Gigi and Team Duchess will be sporting jerseys with the number 24 to remember Bryant.

The game will take place on March 13 at the Northern Sports Centre, an opening ceremony will be held at 11:30 am and the game starts at 12:00 pm.

The other seven passengers that died were: John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, and Ara Zobayan.
