The 35th annual Jeanne Clark Awards
PRINCE GEORGE – The 35 annual Jeanne Clarke Awards recognized The Exploration Place and late Lheidli T’enneh elder Mary Gouchie, for service in the in-house exhibit, Mary Gouchie: Hubodulh’eh.
The exhibit ran from September 15 until January 6 and was focused on the elder’s commitment to language revitalization. Gouchie played a role in revitalizing and recovering theLheidli T’enneh dialect of Dakelh.
The Executive Director of the Central B.C Railway and Forestry Museum, Kathrine Carlson, praised The Exploration Place for being a leader in collaborative work and community engagement for the past 25 years.
The library also awarded four other awards for publication, those awards went to Curt Garland with the Local Publication Award, Tyler McCreary with a Regional Publication Award, Ross Hoffman with a Regional Publication Award, and Jessica McDiarmid with a Regional Publication Award.
