Prince George RCMP investigating a report of sexual assault

PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George RCMP are actively investigating a sexual assault that took place last month.

On February 24, the Prince George RCMP began investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred just before midnight on Friday, February 21.

Police say the adult female victim was walking her dog in the area of 11th Avenue and Winnipeg Street when she was attacked from behind by an unknown assailant.

Police allege the male attacker sexually assaulted the victim and fled in a vehicle.

All efforts to identify the suspect have been negative so far.

Investigators are now asking the public’s help.

The suspect is described as:

  • White male;
  • Approximately 183 – 195 cm (6’0″ to 6’5″);
  • 91 kg (200 lbs); Broad shoulders and muscular upper body;
  • Skull tattoo on the back of his right hand;
  • Wearing a tight fitted black hooded sweatshirt, jeans and heavy work boots.

The vehicle is described as:

  • Black or dark coloured four-door sedan;
  • Roof rack with bike attachments;
  • LED headlights;
  • White or silver rims;
  • Dual exhaust;
  • Alberta licence plate.

Police say there is no indication that the victim and the attacker were known to each other.

Anyone with exterior cameras in the area of 11th Avenue and Winnipeg Street or anyone that may have witnessed something during this time, are asked to contact investigators at 250-561-3300.

Police would like to remind the public to take extra precautions when out at night. ·

  • Avoid going alone;
  • Advise others where you are going and when you will return;
  • Immediately report all suspicious persons and incidents to local police.
