Six people arrested in RCMP bait project

PRINCE GEORGE–Local RCMP continue to deploy bait property in the community and thieves keep biting.

In a release by Prince George RCMP, police say they conducted a bait property project on the evenings of Feb.27th and 28th. The project resulted in the arrest of six people in four separate occasions.

“Our bait programs are an effective use of our resources and produce positive results every time they are deployed in our community.”– S/Sgt. Kent MacNeill, acting Operations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

Just after 11 p.m. on Feb.27th frontline officers assigned to the Downtown Safety Unit arrested two men that had stolen bait property deployed downtown. The 38 and 39-year-old men were transported to the police Detachment and later released with documents to appear in court on June 3.

Just about an hour later the bait property was redeployed in downtown and within a few minutes a 33-year-old female and 35-year-old male were arrested for stealing the property. Both were later released with documents to appear in court on June 3.

The other two incidents occurred on the night of Feb.28th just hours after each other. Police released the name of 34-year-old Aaron Joseph Glover, known to RCMP, Glover was charged with theft under $5000, fail to comply with probation and fail to comply with release order.

A 41-year-old man was also arrested several hours later. Prince George RCMP say they will continue to deploy bait property and other tactics to identify and arrest people responsible for property related crimes.
