Top Dog Spring Trial gives op-paw-tunity to shake off winter rust
PRINCE GEORGE – “I joke a little bit about being in a dog cult,” said Top Dog Agility Association President Janine Fraser.
This past weekend, Fraser had three of her four dogs competing at this month’s Spring Trial of the Top Dog Agility Association, along with other dogs and trainers from Prince George, Quesnel, and as far as 100 Mile House.
“It serves many things. We get to practice some of the things we’ve been training,” said Fraser. “It’s March, so you don’t get to get out quite a much during the wintertime. It’s nice to get them out and stretching their legs. Snow and ice are big injury hazards for dogs, so this gives them a safe place to get out and run.”
Being the second trial put on so far this year, the purpose is to provide the dogs and their trainers an opportunity to shake off some rust and break away from the winter blues, while also getting prepared for the regional trial being held in Langley come June.
