Future of World Women’s Curling championship ‘unfolding by the minute’ says Prince George mayor
PRINCE GEORGE — Discussions are underway regarding whether or not the World Women’s Curling Championship will go forward starting this weekend in Prince George.
Mayor Lyn Hall confirmed this on The Morning Drive with Doug and Carol on 99.3 The Drive this morning.
“It’s a very trying time and it’s very stressful and it has remnants of what we went though in 2017 and 2018,” said Hall. “So, I will just give you a snapshot and will start off by saying that this morning over the last couple of hours things are changing by the minute.
“So, we’re in a situation where last Monday night we had a presentation by Curling Canada and from a local medical health officer and we were comfortable moving on. And that was our track, then the pandemic was announced and here we are.”
