PRINCE GEORGE–There’s a lot of things to think about after the cancellation of the World Women’s Curling Championships and one of those things might be the one of a kind WWCC Mr. PG Stuffies.

The intention behind the knitted scarves was originally to celebrate Mr.PG’s 60 years, this according to Clasine van Adrichem, a member of the Sacred Heart Women’s League.

“The idea came that we found out that Mr.PG is going to be 60 years old this year…so now he’s a senior.”–Clasine van Adrichem, Knitter

In fact, she and her group of knitters don’t really know much about the sport of curling but they make up for it with a needle and a ball of yarn. Creating more than 50 scarves for the plush toy.

Van Adrichem says that it was decided since the World Women’s Curling Championships were happening, that the knits would fit perfectly with the timing of the event and decided to add a WWCC pin to the scarves.

So what happens to the one of a kind stuffies now? The Exploration Place’s CEO, Tracy Calogheros, says they’re not going anywhere.

“I think perhaps these guys will not just be reminiscent of the curling but hey, they could be a marker of the day COVID-19 came to town.”–Tracy Calogheros, CEO, The Exploration Place

Once The Exploration Place re-opens, they will be available for purchase while quantities last.
